From the multiple array of colors, textures and sizes, deciding which type of beans to eat can be tough. For this article we decided to go with a nice bowl of delicious black beans, due to popular demand... We asked the President of Agropex Trading LLC, Antonio Rakigjija how he likes to makes them... Here's what he told us..
"The way I like to cook beans, is quite simple, but needs a bit of preparation. First, open up your bag or can of beans and pour into a colander. Sort through and make sure you remove any foreign materials from your bag of beans, like pebbles, debris etc. Next we fill the container up with water and place the container in your refrigerator. The beans need to soak over night for best quality. Once your beans have soaked for about 6-8 hours, gently rinse your beans with a strainer. Once you've rinsed a few times, place them in a pot and add a tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Fill the pot with water about a half an inch above your beans, and bring to a boil. Add a few cloves of garlic for extra flavoring, prior to boiling point. Once your beans come to a boil, bring the heat down to a medium flame, and let them sit for an hour and half to two hours depending how soft you want them. Make sure to stir your beans from time to time. Depending on your taste, there is a variety of different spices you can add like paprika, chilly powder, cumin and others, the choice is yours. I normally just add pepper and paprika about 20 minutes prior to taking the beans off of the stove. Once your beans having cooked for about two hours , you're good to go. Beans can compliment many other types of food, like quinoa, rice, chicken etc. We'll save those dishes for another post. Now its time to enjoy!"
